Do you offer a free trial?
Yes, you can try Zulu Cart (fully functional) risk-free for a full month! You
don't need to do anything special to get the first month free. Just sign up, and
we won't bill you for 31 days! If you're not completely satisfied, you can cancel
your subscription at any time.
Is there a set-up fee?
No, there is no set-up fee or activation fee of any kind.
Am I locked into a long-term contract? Is there a cancellation fee?
No and no! You are not locked into any kind of a contract. You can cancel at any
time without any fee whatsoever. Why would we charge you if our software isn't
good enough for you to keep using it? We wouldn't!
Is hosting included?
Yes, web hosting is included as part of your subscription. You will have full
control of your hosting account, which you will be able to access directly through
the popular and easy-to-use cPanel interface. Using your cPanel, you will
be able to upload images, PDFs, and other files using cPanel's easy File
Manager system. You can also use cPanel to create an unlimited number of
domain-specific e-mail accounts (i.e. xxx@yourdomain.com), install a WordPress
blog, and perform various other tasks as needed.
The web hosting account has a dedicated (static) IP address, which enables you to
have an SSL certificate so you can take credit card payments directly on your
website.
What if I need more bandwidth or storage space?
Your hosting account gives you 1 GB of storage space (disk space) and 5 GB of
monthly bandwidth, both of which are more than enough for 98% of stores. But if
you need additional storage space and/or monthly bandwidth, we can easily
accomodate you. Each additional 1 GB of storage space costs $5 per month. Each
additional 1 GB of monthly bandwidth also costs $5 per month. When you need
additional storage space and/or bandwidth, simply submit a
help ticket to discuss your needs and make arrangements with Zulu Cart
support.
What if I have my own hosting?
We do have a process in place that allows you to install Zulu Cart on your own
hosting account, either in the "root" directory or in a sub-directory (sub-
folder). If you would like to install Zulu Cart on your own hosting account,
please contact us
and we can work with you.
How does the subscription and installation process work?
It's as easy as it could possibly be! Basically, all you have to do is create the
subscription (i.e. provide your domain name and billing information). We do
everything else! We set up your hosting account and install Zulu Cart on it for
you. Then we send you an e-mail containing all the info you'll need to access your
hosting control panel and your Zulu Cart Admin Panel. We'll typically have
everything set up within about 1-2 hours after you subscribe.
How easy is it to migrate an existing store to Zulu Cart?
Migrating to Zulu Cart from another shopping cart platform is extremely easy.
We've made it possible to migrate your store with zero downtime and with no
risk of inadvertently losing data. Plus, Zulu Cart makes 301 re-directs easy so
you don't lose rankings or backlinks to pages on your current store. The majority
of your product and customer info can quickly be imported to your new store,
making the migration process very fast! We provide easy-to-follow, step-by-step
instructions in this downloadable Guide for Migrating to Zulu
Cart PDF.
How many domains (websites) can I run on one subscription?
Each Zulu Cart subscription is unique to a single domain name. If you have
multiple ecommerce stores, you will need a separate Zulu Cart subscription for
each one. Remember, each subscription includes a web hosting account with its own
dedicated IP address.
How do I keep the software secure and up to date?
You don't have to do anything! The software keeps itself secure and updated
through automatic updates that happen completely behind the scenes. You'll never
have to manually install a "patch" or run an update script or anything like that.
The fully automated updates keep your website secure, ensure continued
compatibility with web browser updates, and also add new features and
enhancements.
How do I build and manage my store?
You manage everything through a simple, user-friendly Admin Panel. Your admin
panel will be located at 'yourdomain.com/zulu'. Once you log in, you'll see a
navigation bar with 7 main tabs, each containing several
pages. The entire Admin Panel is point and click. You don't need any
HTML or programming skills or knowledge to build a store. Everything can be done
from the Admin Panel: choosing your store design, creating your home page, adding
products and categories, setting up payment and shipping options, processing
orders, sending out newsletters, creating product feeds for shopping portals, and
a whole lot more.
How many categories & products can I have?
Zulu Cart allows you to have an unlimited number of products and
categories. To make shopping
at your store easier for customers, you may want to use Zulu Cart's slick 'Product
Attributes' feature to create multiple options for a single product (i.e. size,
color, style, etc.) rather than having 10 separate products that are almost
exactly the same. But it's up to you!
How many administrator (staff) accounts can I have?
You can have an unlimited number of unique admin accounts, and you can
specify which areas of the Admin Panel each staff member has access to.
Can I customize the look of my store? Do I need to purchase and install a
template?
Through your Zulu Cart Admin Panel, you can customize virtually every component of
your store's design. Using a very simple point-and-click interface, you can
customize the look of your store's background, navigation bar, sidebar, box
styles, shading styles, font styles, buttons, header area, footer area, home page,
and a whole lot more. Since you can go through and customize each individual
component of the store's design, Zulu Cart has no need for templates (or themes).
So you do NOT need to purchase and install (which can be scary) a template
(or theme) for your store. Just design it yourself entirely from the Admin Panel!
Do I need a merchant account?
You don't need a merchant account to operate a store (you can
take payments through PayPal or Google Checkout without one). But we highly
recommend getting a Durango merchant account so that you can accept credit card
payments directly on your website. We've worked out an exclusive
arrangement with Durango that gives members of Store Coach unheard-of terms and amazing
low rates.
Will my current payment gateway integrate with Zulu Cart?
Zulu Cart is fully compatible with the following payment options and gateways:
PayPal Standard, Google Checkout, PayPal Website Payments Pro, Durango, and
Authorize.Net.
Do I need an SSL Certificate? How do I get one and install it?
If you only accept payments through PayPal and/or Google Checkout, you do
not need an SSL certificate because customers are taken off-site to make
payment over PayPal or Google's secure servers. But if you have a merchant account
to allow customers to pay by credit card right on your site, you must have an SSL
Certificate. You can purchase a GoDaddy SSL Certificate for only $12.99
per year, and we handle the installation of it for you (just submit a
help ticket when you're ready to have us install it).
